Painting inspiration

Had a brilliant idea this weekend, for my painting class since there is no actual assignment per se, I am going to paint characters from Greek Mythology... So far, I think I'm going to be painting Atlas (the Titan that holds the sky), Icarus (who fell into the ocean after flying too close to the sun on his wax based wings), and Cerberus (the three headed guard dog of the Underworld).... any others sound intriguing? I could use the input....

Map as Art

Main idea for this digital project is a map of my mind...
Planning on taking a picture of my own head in profile and scanning it in to the computer and creating different sections of my mind.
We'll see how it goes...

Since we had to find an article from the New York Times to make a graphic image to promote, here's the article I chose... It's about how the Cuban government is taking away the need for its citizens to have an exit visa to leave the country along with their passport and visa from whatever other country they are going to... I found it kind of interesting...

Strange Inspiration

Not quite sure why, but I found these creepy pictures fascinating and inspirational... I think I'm going to mess around with some scary effects in art since it is Halloween time.

kitty cat bead that I painted this weekend, only about the size of my little finger nail... small paintbrush!

these beads were clear until last night, got them on my trip to Turks and Caicos along with the stains to color them. so much fun

Inspiration for printmaking class...

Next project is a relief print... saw this picture while looking around online and thought it was cute. Going to be cutting a similar image into the linoleum block for the project....
